Buying Fake Computer Hardware Can Prove a Costly Mistake

Procuring genuine IT hardware products from a reputable source is vital to ensuring that networking products can be supported, will provide the correct functionality, compatibility and life span guarantees, and that it will be covered by warranty.

Thousands of networking products are produced abroad in the Far East each year and flood the world market looking identical to authentic products. The scale of the problem was recently highlighted in the case of a New York hardware reseller who netted $10m passing off as genuine bogus Cisco networking equipment. His two and a half year prison sentence and $2.2m fine shows how seriously this problem is taken and the cost of dealing in bogus kit.

However, the huge potential reward is a big temptation to some unscrupulous dealers.
It is often not possible to establish whether hardware is the real thing by simply looking at them, or indeed by using them, as the fake branding and functionality is so convincing. This causes problems for both the hardware manufacturers and their potential customers, as very often the product’s origin only becomes evident when a warranty issue arises, leaving customers angry and disgruntled and manufacturers frustrated and helpless – not to (more…)

Computer hardware has taken a very sophisticated look today. Earlier computers were bulky, and they would be quite ugly to look at. Now all computers are sleek, and most of the spare parts are also very tiny and interesting. It has also become very easy to maintain hardware. It does not cost much at all these days, as the computers have been made simple.

Though the hardware is more sophisticated, the maintenance is very simple, as there has been a lot of evolvement. The look of the computer for the home as well as laptops have all been given new looks. Hardware can be explored in many ways. Even the user, he would be able to set up the computer on his own.

If there are any problems that are related to the hardware, a user can easily fix it by him. They could use manuals and they could easily do what is necessary. There will be no need to call any experts for simple problems. Hardware also creates a lot of job opportunities for many thousands of people across the world.

From serving in many business companies, to other industries, many people have chosen this profession. (more…)

Restored Computer Hardware

Hardware is an aspect of your computer that doesn’t require the need to be changed that often, unlike software. So if your hardware shouldn’t need to be changed that often you want to make sure that when you purchase it you are buying a piece of hardware that will last.

A lot of people overlook the need and responsibility of PC hardware and instead concentrate primarily on software. Without the correct hardware your PC will fail to function correctly.

The term hardware can be fixed to many aspects of your computer, with the main aspect being your motherboard. The motherboard is classed as the heart of your computer; its main purpose is to provide electrical and logical connections. Without a motherboard your computer will not be able to function. Components such as external storage, controllers for video display and sound are attached to the motherboard via edge connectors and cables.

The central processing unit (CPU) is also found on the motherboard and acts as another important piece of computer hardware. The CPU performs most of the calculations which enables a computer to function. The CPU and the motherboard are found within the tower of your (more…)

Types of Computer Hardware

Computer hardware is a physical part of a computer that executes within the hardware. It is unlike computer software or data that can be frequently changed, modified or erased on a computer. Computer hardware is not frequently changed and so is stored in hardware devices such as read only memory (ROM) where it is not readily changed.

Most computer hardware is embedded and so is not visible to normal users. Below are the different types of hardware’s found in a computer.

Ø Motherboard: It is the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system such as a computer. A motherboard is also known as a main board, logic board or system board.
Ø Central processing Unit: A CPU is the main component of a digital computer that interprets instructions and process data in computer programs.
Ø Random Access Memory: A RAM allows the stored data to be accessed in any order. RAM is considered as the main memory of the computer where the working area is used for displaying and manipulating data.
Ø Basic Input Output System: BIOS prepares the software programs to load, execute and control the computer. (more…)

Diagnostic Computer Software And Programs

Most people do not realize that they have a problem with the operating system for a personal computer until they get an error message when the computer is turned on one day. Before the computer system reaches this stage, the computer user might notice that the system has slowed considerably over a period of weeks and that the keyboard or other input devices work incorrectly and gibberish is written across the computer screen.

The error message could come in a numeric form that lists an error code or it could come with a blue screen showing on the computer monitor that alerts the user to a fatal operating error that will prevent the computer operating system from loading. A computer user might try to reboot the operating system several times with the same result. Then they might consider using a recovery disk that contains diagnostic software on it that could identify the source of the problem.

Some computer operating systems require users to access diagnostics software by repetitively hitting the F8 key on the computer keyboard. This procedure will take the operating system into a safe mode that will allow the operator to perform several diagnostics on the (more…)

Software is the language of a computer. And like human language, there are many different computer languages. Essentially, computer software can be divided into three main groups depending on their use and application. These are system software or operating system referred simply as the OS, application software and programming languages. Usually most of us interact with a computer using application software.

1. System Software: System software or operating system is the software used by the computer to translate inputs from various sources into a language which a machine can understand. Basically, the OS coordinates the different hardware components of a computer. There are many OS in the market. The most popular Os are from the stable of Microsoft. We have all heard, used and wondered at the Windows software, which is an OS. Starting with Windows, Microsoft has migrated to Vista, its latest offering in the market. It may come as a surprise to some that there are other operating systems used by others. Among these UNIX is used for large office setups with extensive networking. XENIX is software which has now become redundant. HP -UX and AIX are some operating systems (more…)

Getting the Right Computer Software

Computer software is a vast term used to describe a collection of computer programmes, procedures and documentation that all perform tasks on a computer system. Computer software is the applications that we use on our computers such as office programmes and even windows itself. Computer software is any programme that we load onto and install on our computers.

Computer software is usually brought in CD format and is then installed onto our computers from this. Any new programmes etc that you buy for your computer can be classed as a form of software. Without software you wouldn’t get very far with the use of your computer.

When software is placed or opened on your computer it is loaded into the RAM and executed through the central processing unit (CPU) it is then available for you to use.

Software comes in three main types, the first being system software. This helps to run your computer hardware as well as your computer system. The second is programming software. This provides tools to assist programmers in writing computer programmes, such as text editors, compliers, interpreters and linkers. The last form of software is application software. This allows end users (more…)
