Casinos and gambling are not necessarily bad. Those who engage them without discipline make it bad. I have been an avid fan of online casino games after I have transferred work to another place that does not have a nearby casino. I see online casino as a perfect respite after a very exhausting week. During weekends, or free days, I play online casino games to recharge my body. There is just something about playing and winning that make casino games engaging. Lately, I have been quite intoslots online when I just want to mindlessly play casino games but still win money. As a result of my forays into online casino games, I have thousands of money. I don’t lose because I set a limit with how much I am willing to spend. All the time, I try to get break-even before stopping. So far, I have been lucky. I can’t understand those who blame casino games for destroying their lives. I think those are just the type of people who lack discipline while they practice the joy of living. As always, discipline is required of any good casino online gamer. Destroying one’s life in casino defeats the purpose of casino which is, at least for me, to provide fun and financial winnings to its players.

Why you dont need to buy an expensive new computer
In the modern era of computing there is almost never a reason to buy the most expensive computer. Thanks to Moore’s Law and the expertise of many many engineers and computer designers computers have continued to double in power approximately every eighteen months. That exponential growth has resulted in a great many improvements but they have also caused a side effect that few of us expected.
Computers are getting powerful faster than our need for that power as average consumers. When computers first came out the doubling of computer power was of great importance because programmers were struggling to do the most basic things with computers. A simple typing program would tax most early computers and there was no way you were going to get a graphical interface. That isn’t the case now. No one would even consider selling a computer which couldn’t run the newest version of windows or the Mac OS, and that means that for 99% of computing the most basic computer is all you need.
The desire to have a better computer is of course still relevant but even that should be tempered by Moore’s law. If computers continue to double ever eighteen months then the far smarter (more…)
Keeping up with the latest developments in computer software – Part 1
Reddit.com is a news-submission site, similar to digg, and it contains a sub-reddit channel for programmers (located at http://programming.reddit.com/ ) and sometimes people will submit software announcement information there. Of course it is typically programmer-oriented software but once in a while there is general-use software submitted as well. For example, when Safari was released for Windows, it reached the front page of Reddit within a few hours.
Freshmeat.net is a website where mainly open-source software developers announce releases. The most popular projects as of today (June 26, 2007) are MPlayer, Linux, gcc, Apache, VLC Media Player, PHP, MySQL and Pidgin (formerly known as Gaim). You can subscribe to receive updates on future releases of your favourite open-source software.
If you use Linux, the best way to keep up to date is to check what is being updated when you use your package manager and then use a Google or Ask.com to find out more about the release. There is typically a ChangeLog for open-source software projects that details the differences between releases.
Using sound codes to diagnose computer hardware problems
It is certainly frustrating when your computer isn’t operating properly. However, no matter what the issue is with your computer there is certainly something there to give you some idea what is wrong. If nothing else works, your computer just might beep at you to tell you what the problem is.
Part of the Power On Self-Test, or POST, beep codes are used by the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) to tell you why your computer won’t start. If your system won’t even beep at you then you should look to the processor or the power supply for the problem. But, if those are ok you should get some sort of diagnostic response.
The BIOS is software that controls all of the initial steps of starting the computer and most of the basic operations of the computer. As the computer starts the processor reads the first bits of programming off of firmware, computer code that is built into the motherboard.
The BIOS tells the processor to look for memory, drives, displays and all of the essential parts of the computer. As the computer starts up it finds all of those components and does a simple (more…)

Different Type Of Computer Software!

Quick Guide To Computer Software
There is not doubt that there is a great deal of importance attached to computer software today. With today being the age of computers, there is a great deal of significance placed on the different types of software that are available for computers today.
What exactly is computer software? For those of you who have limited knowledge of computers, software is basically a collection of programs, documentation and procedures that perform any tasks on a computer system. You may think of these softwares as the mind of the computer that has the job of running all of the applications on a computer. More importance is attached to computer software when it comes to wanting to connect to the Internet.
With so much software that is available for computers today, how does one know what software is safe and reliable? That is a very big question today as a lot of software can have spyware and adware attached to it which will make your computer go buggy! Should you spend all of your hard-earned money buying every piece of software that your hear desires, or should you try to download some free software that you will find online and (more…)

Introduction to computer hardware – Part 13
I can remember my first experiences with computers, which came when I began college in the fall of 1983. IBM Personal Computers were the first devices I came in contact with, and they were certainly impressive while simultaneously being intimidating. These devices were so new that none of uses even had the slightest inkling how rapidly they would insert themselves into our lives or our futures.
Twenty six years later I have a job where I use the computer as the primary tool in my job. I love the computer and cannot imagine my life without one. I understand that it is just a convenience though; realizing I could live without, but choose not to. There is a never ending cascade of new avenues for the enjoyment of this device. But this article is about the components, not the services, so let’s get started on that.
The main “business” center of the computer is of course the CPU or Central Processing Unit. This box holds the guts of the machine, including circuit boards, power supply, processors, memory devices and media technology, such as CD-ROMs or DVD recorder/players.
Since this is an introduction, I will (more…)

How to choose a computer
The first step in deciding what computer to buy isn’t to memorize a long list of numbers and computer parts, it is to decided what you want to do with your computer. Computers, unlike most things in our modern society are not made to order. Even computers which have identical hardware will soon react differently depending on their software. Those numbers are useful and a great way to help decided if you’re getting a good deal on a computer but they shouldn’t make the decision for you.
There are hundreds of things you can do on a modern computer, but only a few that will really tax the hardware. The two most common things which will tax your computer are gaming and video editing and while they may seem similar in the computer setup they are not identical. If you plan to do either then it is likely that you will want to spend some of your budget on a good video card, but if you are playing video games you will likely want to upgrade other things later as well. The newest video games are continually pushing the limits of computers and as such a computer you buy today, (more…)
Best online stores for cheap computer hardware – Part 5
http://www.techbuy.com.au
In Australia below retail price computer components are hard to come buy..
Upon stumbling across this website i have purchased a HDD and Video Card from them and the components arrived in 100% working order with no problems from travel.
Their website is easy to navigate and the purchase system is secure and easy to use compared to a few other websites i have bought things from.
The prices they offer are good depending on the hardware, it appears that some hardware they sell is the same price as what you would find in a retail store. Yet other hardware is significantly below cost. So i recommend you look around before you buy anything here unless you know what the hardware should cost retail.
There was one problem with their courier, they apparently had an error in their system that said the item in question had been distributed and sent out but when it did not arrive, a phone call to the courier was made and they offered no help at all with the situation. The item ordered had been sent back to the warehouse and it needed to be sent all over again. After a phone call to techbuy it was arranged (more…)
