Best online stores for cheap computer hardware

I, like so many others these days, enjoy two things in life: technology and low prices. It has been my quest in life to combine these two things.

Throughout the years I have always had a knack for getting the best deals on computer hardware. My friends and family often ask me, “What’s your secret?” Well, it’s no secret. I use a series of websites to find my bargains.

The first website isn’t a store, it is a deal hunter’s paradise. Tech Bargains (http://techbargains.com), a division of Planet Bargains, is a website dedicated to one of my many passion: finding low prices for you, the technology consumer. With its user friendly controls for finding the best deal in whatever you need most, Tech Bargains is a great site to get your bargain-hunting career started. It features both a product search and a categorical system, which makes finding deals a breeze for even the most inexperienced computer user.

The second website is one I’ve personally used with success for a number of years. NewEgg (http://newegg.com) has some of the cheapest computer hardware around from some of the most esteemed (more…)

Just a few years ago, I used to build computers, and building your own or building for others was quite a profitable business for many computer geeks. Times have changed, today if you want to build a computer, it is going to cost as much for the components to build a fast machine as you can go out and buy one already that comes with a monitor and the operating system. If you build your own, you still need an operating system to go with it. Where the advantage to building your own or building for others comes in is in building in the upgradability as well as being able to custom build for extreme machines and for corporate uses since most of the shelf computers use onboard graphics, onboard networking, and onboard everything else, but this proposition still becomes expensive. For those of you who do not know, onboard simply means it is built into the motherboard, and is not removable however it can be over ridden and updated graphics and wireless networking can always be added. Also shelf computers generally come with a lot of bloat ware that can slow your machine down.

Way back in 1946, a German engineer by the name of Konrad Zues developed the world’s first computer programming language called Plankalkül while hiding in the Bavarian Alps waiting for the war to end. Among other uses, Konrad used this table and data structure on his Z3 computer as a chess opponent. You can’t help but wonder if Konrad would feel at ease today with all of the different types of computer software available, or would he go back up into the mountains, play chess and hide from the world.

No matter what your goals, no matter what you’re trying or want to do with your computer (or what you want your computer to do for you), it’s almost certain that there are a variety of different computer software programs to get your project done. With newer computers, you will no longer see such a large boost in operation. Once you set up the essential uses of the desktop computer and it has been working for some time, most users no longer see such a large speed increase with newer computer hardware. If you had outstanding computer hardware last year, it is still outstanding today.

Falsehood #2: The Internet can be sped up by a faster desktop computer.

This might possibly happen if you (more…)
